Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I pick up my Arts Integration tickets?

Student Center Info+Tickets desk (1st floor)

Can my students pick up their own Art Integration tickets?

No, Arts Integration ticket orders can only be picked up by one person: the faculty or staff member requesting the tickets or their designee. You or your designee will distribute the tickets to your students.

Can the Arts Integration tickets be emailed directly to my students?

Unfortunately, no.

What is the ideal way for me to distribute the tickets to my students?

This is up to you. Some faculty members distribute tickets in class and some require students to meet them in front of the GMC before the performance to receive their ticket.

Can I require my students to attend a performance that is outside of our regular class time?

Yes, as long as you add the performance information to your syllabus and offer an alternative assignment for students who may have scheduling conflicts.

What are some examples of ways faculty incorporate performances into their coursework?

Faculty utilize the Arts integration Program in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: assigning students to write a paper about the experience and how it may or may not have connected with their coursework; class discussion about themes of the performance; extra credit option; etc.

If I cannot attend the performance, how can I confirm whether my students attended?

The ticket request form includes an option to select a seat roster with your order. If selected, you will be provided with a spreadsheet that includes a list of all seat numbers associated with your order. You can use this sheet to note the ticket you provide to each student. After the performance, you will be emailed a report of the tickets that were used by seat number to determine which students attended.

Can I request complimentary Arts Integration tickets for family members or friends to attend a performance?

No, Arts Integration tickets are designated only for SSU classes and student success programs to attend performances as a part of their course or programmatic work. However, SSU faculty, staff, and students receive discounts to many of the performances the Green Music Center presents. Students always receive complimentary tickets to performances presented by the Music and Theatre Arts & Dance departments.

Am I required to submit a request for Arts Integration tickets for performances presented by the Music and Theatre Arts & Dance departments?

Not necessarily, however, it is helpful for program partners to know that classes are attending performances as a part of their coursework. This option also provides a complimentary ticket to the faculty/staff members attending with their classes/student success programs.
