Nikole Hannah-Jones is the Pulitzer Prize-winning creator of the 1619 Project and a staff writer at The New York Times Magazine. This event will feature a moderated discussion followed by a Q&A session with the audience. 

Tickets Required

This general admission event is free to all SSU students, faculty, and staff. Tickets can be obtained by logging on to the university box office site with SSU credentials and then navigating to the event page. 

Please note: This event may reach capacity. Faculty who are assigning students to attend this lecture are strongly encouraged to have their students obtain their own tickets as early as possible in the Spring 2025 semester.

1619 Project: Common Read Co-Curricular Opportunities

Join The HUB Cultural Center for a four-part series exploring The 1619 Project, a transformative work by Nikole Hannah-Jones that challenges the traditional narrative of American history. Led by Sonoma State University professors, this series will dive into the lasting legacy of slavery, its impact on American society, and the ongoing struggles for racial justice.
